ANALISIS HUBUNGAN KECEMASAN MATEMATIKA DENGAN EFIKASI MATEMATIS PADA MAHASISWA LINTAS PRODI

Abstract


This research aims to determine how mathematics anxiety and mathematics self-efficacy correlate among university students across different study programs. The research method employed a purposive sampling technique, involving 100 active second- and fourth-semester students from non-mathematics and non-mathematics education majors. Data collection was conducted using a Likert-scale questionnaire. The prerequisite test results indicated that the instrument was valid (r-calculated > 0.195) and reliable (αX = 0,912, αY = 0,833), while the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test confirmed normally distributed data (p > 0.05). Data analysis using the Pearson Product-Moment correlation concluded that H_0 was rejected and H_(1 )was accepted, as the significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) was 0.000 < 0.05. This empirically proves a significant, strong positive relationship (r = 0.744) between mathematics anxiety (X) and mathematics self-efficacy (Y). This positive correlation indicates that students' mathematics self-efficacy dynamics are closely related to their mathematics anxiety.
