PENGARUH PENERAPAN TEACHING AT THE RIGHT LEVEL (TARL) TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN SPASIAL MATEMATIS SISWA PADA MATERI TRANSFORMASI GEOMETRI

Abstract


Kemampuan spasial matematis merupakan salah satu komponen penting dalam memahami konsep geometri, khususnya pada materi transformasi geometri. Namun, hasil belajar siswa di bidang ini masih tergolong rendah karena proses pembelajaran yang belum sepenuhnya memperhatikan perbedaan kemampuan awal siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penerapan pendekatan Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) terhadap kemampuan spasial matematis siswa SMP dibandingkan dengan pendekatan Saintifik. Metode yang digunakan adalah quasi-experimental dengan desain pretest-posttest control group. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes kemampuan spasial matematis dan dianalisis menggunakan uji independent samples t-test dengan bantuan SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata skor posttest siswa yang belajar dengan pendekatan TaRL lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan siswa yang belajar menggunakan pendekatan Saintifik (M = 73,00; SD = 15,916 vs. M = 54,39; SD = 17,838). Hasil uji t menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan antara kedua kelompok, yang berarti pendekatan TaRL efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan spasial matematis siswa. Temuan ini memperkuat pandangan bahwa pembelajaran yang disesuaikan dengan tingkat kemampuan aktual siswa dapat membantu mengoptimalkan proses konstruksi pengetahuan matematis.
