PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN PROBLEM BASED LEARNING (PBL) TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP MATEMATIKA SISWA KELAS VIII SMP NEGERI 1 BONEPANTAI

Abstract

This is an experimental study aimed at determining the effect of the Problem-Based Learning model on the mathematical conceptual understanding abilities of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Bonepantai. The hypothesis in this study is that the Problem-Based Learning model influences the mathematical conceptual understanding abilities of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Bonepantai. The population in this study were the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Bonepantai. Sampling was carried out using the simple random sampling technique and obtained class VIII'1 as a class that was taught using the Problem Based Learning model (experimental class) consisting of 25 students and class VIII'1 as a class that was taught using the Direct Learning model (control class) consisting of 25 students. The design used in this study is a pretest-posttest control group design and the data collection technique is the provision of essay-shaped tests. Inferential analysis in this study is the Anacova Test. The results of this study indicate that there is an influence of the Problem Based Learning model on students' understanding of mathematical concepts, where the understanding of mathematical concepts of students who are taught with the Problem Based Learning model is higher than students who are taught with the direct learning model on the material of relations and functions in class VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Bonepantai.
